DETROIT -

Nissan showed off a concept car Monday that it says shows the styling direction of a future sedan.

The Sport Sedan Concept doesn't have a flashy name, but it is a pretty aggressive design for a sedan. The low roofline, large wheels and minimal ground clearance are not likely to make it into production anytime soon.

However you are likely to see design cues, like the V-shaped grille, boomerang headlights and tail lights, and floating roof -- especially at the c-pillar, where the roof flows into the trunk.

The concept is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that's generating more than 300 horsepower.

Nissan leaders say there are no plans to put the car into production as it is, but look for something similar in future Maximas and Altimas.
