The Oakland Raiders signed free agent linebacker Spencer Hadley and safety Larry Asante and and waived linebacker Marshall McFadden and safety Shelton Johnson on Wednesday.
Asante played in five games for the Indianapolis Colts last season, mostly on special teams. He previously was with the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and totaled 12 tackles and one interception in 17 career games.
Hadley was released in June by the New Orleans Saints after signing in May. The former BYU player had 149 tackles, 4 1/2 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries in 43 career games in college. His senior season ended after six games because of a knee injury.
McFadden was signed to the Raiders' practice squad last September and to the active roster in December. He played in four games for Oakland last season and had two tackles.
Johnson also played in four games for the Raiders last season and had four tackles and a fumble recovery.
