Report: Diddy, Curry among group bidding for Panthers

Rapper, NBA star would be minority owners

Sean "Diddy" Combs and Stephen Curry are among a group seeking to purchase the NFL's Carolina Panthers, according to a report from ESPN.com.

The rapper/mogul and the NBA star would be minority owners in the group being put together by e-commerce billionaire Michael Rubin, sources said.

Current team owner Jerry Richardson has put the team up for sale amid a league investigation into workplace misconduct allegations.

Rubin, who owns sports apparel retailer Fanatics, is one of three known bidders who notified the NFL with a formal letter of intent on Monday, according to ESPN.

Combs and Curry both made their interest known in being part of a Panthers' ownership group after Richardson announced the team was going up for sale.

The Golden State Warriors All-Star guard is a native of Charlotte and a Panthers fan.
