Major Storm Moves Into Colorado
Initially the snow will be rather wet, and the wind won't be too strong, so through this evening we expect slushy and snow packed roadways with reduced visibility due to bursts of heavy snow. Later tonight and Thursday a colder, wind driven snow will lead to icy and snow packed roadways with poor visibility due to blowing snow, mainly north and east of Colorado Springs and east of Pueblo.
Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for many mountain areas and for parts of I-25, they are the areas shaded in white. Snow will accumulate at the ski resorts and over our local mountain communities, but wind isn't expected to be too much of an issue west of the Interstate. Winter Storm Warnings are now up for parts of eastern plains Colorado into Kansas where travel will become difficult tonight and Thursday. Winter Storm Warnings are also in effect for the Wet, and parts of the Sangre De Cristo mountains.
