Wind driven, accumulating snow should reach many areas in time for the evening commute

Scattered, wet snow showers will accumulate some on mainly cooler surfaces through mid-afternoon under any stronger bursts.  Snow should intensify and expand between Colorado Springs and Denver by late this afternoon.  As the colder air pours in and the wind picks up, the mainly wet conditions along I-25 will become icy and snow packed.  There may even be a little thunder somewhere before the cold air pours southward.  As the wind increases dramatically, whiteout conditions will become more likely north and northeast of Colorado Springs...
