We may start the day relatively warm, but the weather will change quickly this afternoon and evening!
We expect dramatic temperature contrasts across the state again with the approaching storm. High temperatures will range from the 30s and 40s over northeastern Colorado, to the 70s south of the Arkansas River. The cold front will race southward this afternoon, probably reaching Colorado Springs early this afternoon, then racing southward to the New Mexico state line by early this evening. The wind will be strong on either side of the cold front, and could be gusting over 40 mph at times. The difference will be that the wind ahead of the front will at least be a relatively warm, westerly wind, once that cold front passes the wind will be very cold and out of the north or northeast.
