COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A winter storm watch that was issued for Teller County and northern El Paso County ahead of an approaching storm has been upgraded to a warning.
The warning includes Woodland Park, Cripple Creek, Palmer Lake, Monument, Black Forest, Calhan, Peyton and surrounding areas. It begins at noon in Teller County and 6 p.m. in El Paso County. 6 to 12 inches of snow will be possible through Saturday evening in these areas.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for the remainder of the Colorado Springs metro area beginning at 8 p.m. 3 to 6 inches of snow may accumulate in this area through Saturday evening.
UPDATE-- Warnings for Teller and El Paso have been taken down as of 9:07 a.m.
