Large box truck rolls on Highway 50 hitting two law enforcement patrol vehicles

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. - Eastbound Highway 50 was closed Thursday morning after a crash east of Cañon City. The highway has since reopened.

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says a large box truck rolled, hitting two patrol vehicles. One belonging to the sheriff's office and the other belonging to the Florence Police Department.

No law enforcement officers were hurt, but there are injuries.

The crash happened at the intersection of Highways 50 and 67. Traffic was diverted to Highway 67 through Florence during the closure.

The cause of the crash has not been confirmed, but roads are slippery in the area because of freezing fog, freezing drizzle and light snow.
