High fire danger - 03/05/18

Today: Be prepared for high fire danger today! Red Flag Warnings run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. across much of southern Colorado. Avoid outdoor burning, don't throw cigarette butts and report any smoke if you see it! Highs will be reaching the 40s and 50s in the lower elevations under mostly clear skies. Gusts could be reaching the 30s and 40s. We can't rule out a few isolated gusts into the 50s either.

Tonight: It could stay breezy across southern Colorado. Lows drop to the teens under mainly clear skies.

Extended: Fire danger remains elevated into Tuesday. It will be breezy in the morning; however, as an area low pressure continues to move away from Colorado into the afternoon, winds will be settling down accordingly. Temperatures warm up Wednesday through Friday thanks to a ridge of high pressure. On-and-off between Saturday and Monday, unsettled weather is expected.
