As part of the Summer of Discovery program, the Space Foundation in Colorado Springs is hosting "Weather Wonders Week" through Saturday.

The week will feature live demonstrations by Cool Science, a chance to explore a real weather station, interactive activities for kids and adults and presentations by Stormtracker 13 Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister on Saturday and Stormtracker 13 Meteorologist Rachael Plath on Thursday.

"It energizes their mind and energizes their creativity and curiosity," said Elliot Pulham, CEO for the Space Foundation.

Pulham said one of the most popular attractions at the Space Foundation is the Science On A Sphere.  Hanging from the ceiling, images are projected onto the sphere to make it come alive.  The Stormtracker 13 weather team will be using this tool to explain how meteorologists predict the weather.

Active military and residents that have been directly impacted by the fires (including first responders and homeowners) will be granted free access to this event.
