Wind Alert Day Level 1; fire danger is high today

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Warm temperatures, breezy winds and low humidity levels have combined to create high fire danger conditions in southern Colorado today.

Red Flag Warnings are in effect for El Paso, Teller, Pueblo, Fremont, Huerfano and Las Animas counties in southern Colorado until 6 p.m. The warnings also extend northward through the Denver metro area. 

Today is a Level 1 StormTracker 13 Wind Alert Day. This means winds in the 30 mph range are expected.
