American Idol auditions are held in Denver

American Idol auditions were held Friday morning in Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, for anyone who thinks they could be the next American Idol.

The line spanned around the corner, starting at the front of the convention center and heading down Stout Street, under the tunnel next to the light rail station.

We met up with Morgan Desigio, the 17-year-old from Colorado Springs who was one of the winners of KRDO's Colorado Springs Idol contest.

"It feels pretty surreal," Desigio told us. "It's kind of a whirlwind just getting the news and having to prepare. But now I'm here and I'm pretty excited but a little nervous too."

Time will tell if a Coloradan will be the next American Idol.
