Colorado Springs police make arrest in homicide near Chelton Road

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UPDATE: Colorado Springs homicide detectives have made an arrest in the homicide committed Friday near the 1900 block of S. Chelton Road. 

A 24-year-old male suspect was arrested for First Degree Murder and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. His name and photo have no been arrested at this time. 

No additional suspects are expected to be made, according to police. 


Colorado Springs police said Friday that a death is being investigated near Academy Boulevard and Chelton Road.

No other details were given, but the department spokesperson was reportedly on his way to the Summit Creek Apartments, near 1900 S. Chelton Road. (MAP) A female was found dead inside an apartment.

At this point, it's not clear if this is a homicide investigation or if there's any threat to the public, but police are calling the death suspicious.
