Juvenile dead following shooting in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating the death of a juvenile male.

Officers responded to a shooting call at a home on the 8800 block of Tranquil Knoll Ln., just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived they found the juvenile was already dead.

The Violent Crime division was called in to assist with the investigation. Detectives are still interviewing witnesses, and believe everyone involved has already been accounted for. At this time we're waiting to learn more from investigators.

Days later, the police department had still not clarified the nature of the shooting, but friends of the family claimed the teen took his own life.

They also informed KRDO that a fund has been set up to raise money to help the victim's family with funeral expenses.
