2 arrested for beating, robbing man in Fremont Co.

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. - Two men have been arrested for allegedly attacking a man walking along a Fremont County road and robbing him at gunpoint on Saturday.

Michael Anthony Harding, 27, and Kenneth Troy Skinner, 18, both from Florence have been arrested for 2nd-Degree Assault causing serious bodily injury, Robbery, Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine), Possession of drug paraphernalia, and Possession of an illegal weapon.

On Saturday at around 3:30 p.m., the Florence Police Chief was told about a man bleeding from his head, walking along Fremont County Road 79 and Fremont County Rd 77 near Chandler and southwest of Florence. The man was reportedly trying to flag down drivers.

When officers found the man, he told them that he was just walking along when a vehicle stopped near him and two men got out and attacked him. The suspects allegedly held him at gunpoint and stole some of his belongings.

Through the victim’s description, Fremont County deputies were able to find the suspects’ vehicle which was in the area of County Rd 13 and 13A.

Harding and Skinner were immediately arrested.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was last reported as stable.

The suspects are being held without bond at the Fremont County Jail.
