Man wanted after firing at Colorado State Patrol trooper, hitting deputy's car

CONEJOS COUNTY, Colo. - The Colorado State Patrol is looking for a 39-year-old man who fled from a traffic stop, hit a Conejos County deputy's vehicle, and fired a gun at a state trooper late Saturday near Antonito.

CSP confirmed to KRDO that a wanted felon was spotted pulling out of a driveway, and authorities attempted to pull him over around 10 p.m. Saturday.

The vehicle then took off and rammed a Conejos County vehicle, so CSP helped with a "vehicle intervention" and got the suspect's vehicle stopped.

Two people were in the car: the suspect and a 28-year-old woman. Their identities haven't been released yet.

They both took off on foot, and that's when at least two shots were fired at the trooper. The trooper fired back with one shot, according to CSP. Nobody was injured in the gunfire.

The woman was apprehended shortly after the chase started, and she was booked into the Conejos County Jail. Her mugshot hasn't been released yet.

No description of the wanted suspect was provided.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
