Mandatory evacuations lifted in Fountain after gas leak

FOUNTAIN, Colo. - UPDATE: The City of Fountain lifted evacuations around 4:25 p.m. for those affected by the gas leak Saturday afternoon.

 

PREVIOUS STORY: Residents in Fountain are being evacuated Saturday afternoon due to a gas leak.

According to the City of Fountain, Fountain Mesa between Ancestra Dr. and C&S Road are closed to due to the leak. A tweet from the city said the leak started from a traffic accident near the area. 

Mandatory evacuations are taking place within a two block radius from Reminiscent Circle, to Camino Del Ray, to Calle Manzana/Calle Fontana to C&S Road. 

Anyone evacuated can go to the DFAC Building at 326 W. Alabama until evacuations are lifted.
