COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A crime spree that started with a shooting inside a Colorado Springs club escalated quickly with multiple carjackings and robberies spanning across Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and Oregon.
It was a dangerous crime spree that left one person dead and put multiple people in danger.
The event that started it all was a shooting at Deja Vu showgirls near Interstate 25 and South Academy. Matthew Fanelli was kicked out of the club and in return, allegedly fired shots at multiple people.
"Here we've got the three counts of attempted first-degree murder," said Jackie Kirby with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
Kirby said that a dancer named Cynthia Sena ran out with Fanelli after shots were fired.
But just two hours later, at 2 a.m. police believe he shot and killed a man during a carjacking in Denver.
Then police believe he drove the stolen black Cadillac to Wyoming, where he and another man robbed a convenience store.
Surveillance also captured a woman waiting for them outside of the store.
But the three suspects didn't stop there. They were then spotted in Park City, Utah, robbing a Wells Fargo Bank.
"I'm sure it was a very scary situation for them," said Kacey Bates with Summit County Sheriff's Office in Utah.
Then Saturday night, more than 24 hours after being on the run, the trio led police on a pursuit in Oregon. But that wasn't before attempting another carjacking and then later shooting multiple rounds at several cars.
One of those bullets went straight into a child's car seat, nearly hitting the child inside. The chase finally came to an end, leading to Fanelli's arrest.
Police aren't saying whether the woman in the crime spree was also arrested.
