Mountain lion pulled from tree in Canon City neighborhood

CANON CITY, Colo. - It wasn't your typical call for a cat stuck in a tree.

A mountain lion ran up a tree Wednesday in a neighborhood south of the Arkansas River in Canon City.

The Canon City Fire Department and Colorado Parks and Wildlife were called to get the big cat out of the tree, and it reportedly "didn't go easy."

A picture posted to CPW's Twitter page shows the sedated mountain lion being pulled down to the ground -- one worker even has to take a firm grip of the cat's tail.

CPW said the cat then woke up in the middle of being taken down and started hissing and fighting. Two officers were bitten before the cat was subdued and put in a bear trap to be relocated.
