Pueblo police find couple pushing stolen truck up I-25

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Pueblo police officer spotted a pickup truck being pushed on Interstate 25 early Friday morning, and after stopping to help, he found out that the truck was stolen.

It happened around 3:40 a.m. near Ilex Street; an officer found a man pushing the truck while a woman was behind the steering wheel. They told the officer they had "just found the pickup on the roadside," according to the Pueblo Police Department.

The officer asked them where their vehicle was; they said they didn't know, and that it had "disappeared."

So the officer called for backup, and that's when the man took off running, leaving his girlfriend behind. Pueblo police took her into custody for an active warrant, and she quickly gave up the name of her boyfriend.

Pueblo police say the male suspect also has an active warrant, and both will face auto theft charges. Neither of their identities have been released.
