Lewis-Palmer celebrates undefeated boys basketball season

LewisPalmer celebrates state...

MONUMENT, Colo. - The anticipation buzzing around the Lewis-Palmer high school gym Thursday afternoon was palpable.

Of course, it was the day before spring break -- but it was also the day the school planned to celebrate their state championship-winning Rangers boys basketball team.

In an assembly that included most of the student body, Lewis-Palmer honored the 12 young men (including nine seniors) that brought home the 4A state title after beating Longmont 57-52 in the championship game.

The Rangers finished the season 28-0, becoming the only boys team in Colorado Class 4A or 5A to ever win 28 games in a single season.
