CO man charged for drowning neighbor's cat in bathtub

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A man in Grand Junction is now facing possible jail time after being accused of drowning his neighbor’s cat. 

Ed Haynes was cited on Wednesday by the Mesa County Animal Services, our partners at KJCT report. 

Haynes allegedly trapped the cat in his backyard and then drowned it in his bathtub. 

Haynes admitted to KJCT that he trapped Little Mister after it had repeatedly entered his yard, becoming a nuisance.

The cat's owner confronted Haynes about her missing cat and then reported him to animal services on July 25.

Haynes has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty.

He could face jail time and fines of up to $100,000 if found guilty.
