Woman dies in Black Forest crash

BLACK FOREST, Colo. - A 50-year-old woman is dead following a crash near the intersection of Hodgen and Black Forest Road Tuesday afternoon.

Susan Zeller was driving a 2005 Toyota Matrix eastbound on Hodgen when she lost control of her car and traveled into the westbound lane. A 1996 Ford Thunderbird was traveling westbound at the same time and struck Zeller.

Zeller was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. Zeller later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

The driver of the Ford Thunderbird was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Both of the drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Colorado State Patrol is asking that anyone who witnessed the crash, or any of the events leading up to the crash, contact the Dispatch Center at 719-544-2424.
