COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TODAY: A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for southern Colorado until about 9 p.m. Storms are expected to pop up throughout the area Friday afternoon, and some could bring hail and high winds.
Mostly sunny weather is in the forecast through lunchtime before the clouds roll in again. Between 12 and 2PM, scattered storms develop and will likely become strong to severe as they move east. Hail and high winds will be those primary threats again today. Highs warm to the 70s, 80s and 90s before the active weather develops.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear with showers and storms ending. Lows cool to the 40s and 50s, so we won't be as mild as the last couple of nights.
EXTENDED: Increased chances for showers and storms move in over the weekend, so it's still looking like a good couple of days to plan something indoors for dad. Temperatures cool to the 70s and 80s over the weekend. Storms and showers are still expected for Monday and Tuesday before we dry out and warm up into Tuesday and Wednesday.
